Brussels.

As I write this, my eyes are welled over with tears of both anguish and anger. I am deeply sympathetic towards all those affected by the tragic events in Brussels, and that includes all of you.

I've been wondering if my feelings of hate and my pain are selfish. I don't know anyone in Belgium. I don't know those involved, so why should I be feeling this way? I told myself I shouldn't be allowed to be hurt, because the hurt belongs to those affected by the bombings; but fuck it. I am hurting, I am angry, and I am ready to accept that people aren't always good.

The world lives in a state of perpetual terror; these events magnify that. The problem is the world is scared of the wrong thing. The world should not be afraid of any race or religion; the world should be afraid of murderers.

Why haven't the past 15 years been recognised as war?

People are dying every single day at the hands of others. People are attempting to flee to safety, and are being turned down by the world's most powerful countries because of where they came from. When Russia and Ukraine fought over who wanted to own the Crimean Peninsula, the world considered that a war. Two countries fighting over a Peninsula is a war, but bombing the absolute shit out of countries like Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan (and the list goes on) to get back at those few people who terrorised the cities of Paris, Brussels, and New York City, is just another day on Earth.

I think the thing that upsets me the most is the lack of exposure when it comes to events like those in Brussels, and the war. I was sitting in a hotel lobby in Melbourne last weekend, and I was watching the news on a small television. While the news anchor was rattling on about Kim K's naked selfie, with her body and pictures strewn across the entire screen, the bottom bar reeled off a few headlines - among which read: VLADIMIR PUTIN PULLS RUSSIAN MILITARY OUT OF SYRIA.

HOW IS THAT SMALLER NEWS THAN FUCKING KIM KARDASHIAN?

Russia removing themselves from Syria (which I'm not even sure the extent of as it only got a 75 word clipping in my local newspaper) could be world changing. Even as I sit here, I think about all the allied nations to Russia, which I am hoping will make the same decision - but I doubt it.

What sparked me to write this blog post was a video of the Brussels attack. I was watching the video on a website that runs 'news' stories, and they had a sort of 'important headlines' related video section on the side of my video. One headline mentioned Brussels, the following five were about Apple's new amazing iPhone that is RUMOURED to be happening. GO. FUCK. YOURSELVES.

We are so plugged into to this technological dystopia that nobody sees what's really going on. I feel like I'm in 1984!

People are dying. People are terrified. People are fleeing for their safety and are being turned away, and even killed. People are being beaten for believing different things. People are being assaulted for having an opinion and it has GOT TO STOP.

I shouldn't be afraid to speak my mind. I shouldn't be afraid to take a train, or a bus, or a taxi, or a plane. I shouldn't be afraid to be human. If this is what humanity is, then I don't want to be.

I know this was probably one giant ramble, and won't make sense in the scheme of things, but I had to get it off my chest.

In order to achieve peace, we as people need to shut the fuck up and accept that people are different.
We shouldn't be afraid of someone who's beliefs differ to our own.
We should be afraid of murderers.

Help the refugees.
Let the LGBT+ community love who they want to love.
Free the nipple.
House the homeless.
Stop police brutality.
Stand up for women's rights and support gender equality.
Don't be scared to be a feminist.
TIGHTEN GUN LAWS.
and most of all
STOP KILLING EACH OTHER.

Fear of Flying!

Hey Guys!

I just got back from a few days in Melbourne, and I wanted to do a quick little post talking about my fear of flying.

Since I was little, I've had a fear of flying; I think it comes from my Dad. As long as I can remember he has been terrified of going on planes, whether it be a 20 hour flight or a 2 hour flight. I remember once when I was about six years old, he was due to catch a flight to London for work. My Mum dropped him off at the airport, and shortly after getting back home, she received a phone call. My Dad was crying, and he hadn't boarded the flight. She drove down to pick him up and when he made it back home, he was a mess. Shaking, pale, in tears; it was really strange to see my Dad like that, and when I found out it was because of a plane, I guess that's how it started.

I'm not the kind of person that has a crazy wanderlust, or needs to travel often, so when I was younger and I had to catch planes, I didn't quite understand how it all worked. There was something about being locked inside a giant metal tube in the sky for hours that wasn't very appealing.

I think the worst part about flying is waiting to get on the plane. That for me is the real 'fight-or-flight' moment. When you are through security, and you can see your plane from your gate, and you still have a chance to turn around. That is the absolute worst feeling in the world. I can't eat when I'm going to catch a flight, and I'm surrounded by restaurants and people chowing down. All that goes through my head is 'why am I the only one panicking when fear of flying is a really common fear?'; it doesn't make sense. Once I've chosen to fight the fear, and I'm on the plane and in my seat, it is time for take-off.

I've always hated take-off. Back when I was a kid, I thought the plane took off at 90 degrees and it was going to flip over and fall upside-down onto the tarmac. I don't think that anymore, but I still hate take-off. I can hardly sit on hills in my car if they're steep enough - the angle freaks me out. I hate the sudden thrust of speed, and the G-force holding me back in my seat. As the plane takes off, all I'm hoping for is to look out the window, and see the wide open blue sky above the clouds. That's when I can relax.

Usually, when my plane has taken off and we are cruising, I calm down a little. I still feel pretty uncomfortable, and sometimes I forget to breathe properly, but most of the time I'm just listening to music, and waiting to land.

Then there's turbulence. Now, I tell myself before I fly to expect bumps. It's inevitable, and it's just air pockets and very rarely anything serious. However, even with those thoughts in mind, the first small series of bumps make me very anxious. The little side to side shifts I can handle with very little effort, but when the plane shakes a lot, drops at the rear, hits an air pocket and suddenly drops a few feet, that scares the shit out of me. Whenever there is turbulence, I immediately look to the windows to see the density of the clouds. On the flight home this afternoon, it was like someone had painted the windows grey. Needless to say, it was a very bumpy ride.

Coming in to land is much better than taking off, but I'm not overly fond of the flippy feeling my stomach gets when we make the big turns or start to descend quickly. I hate it when my ears pop, so having them do so 5 times in the space of a few seconds is absolutely awful. When flying into the Gold Coast from the south, the plane makes a huge turn around over the ocean. Combining the feeling of sudden descent with the feeling of being completely sideways is not a feeling I would want to experience every day. But despite all that, the sound of the landing gear clunking into place is one of the most comforting sounds of the entire flight. Then when you take that first step onto the tarmac; there's nothing sweeter than being on the ground.

I don't know what it is about flying that I am scared of - It's not claustrophobia, and it's not a fear of having no control. I know they wouldn't let us fly if there was any reason we couldn't make it down. I know the pilots and cabin crew are highly trained to assist in any emergency - big or small. I just hate flying, and it's so frustrating there's nothing I can pinpoint. I just hate flying, and there's no other way I can put it.

That's it for now guys!
Let me know what you are scared of by leaving me a comment on this post.
Hopefully, I'm not the only one dealing with this fear.

Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoos!

Hey guys!
Over the last few months, I've been collecting the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoos!
These are beautiful eye bases, and I have collected the 10 shades I see sold in stores, so I thought I'd swatch them and give you a mini-review!

From L-R (Top-Bottom): 05 Too Cool, 20 Painted Purple, 25 Bad To The Bronze, 35 Tough as Taupe, 40 Tenacious Teal,
45 Bold Gold, 50 Edgy Emerald, 55 Inked In Pink, 60 Silver Strike, 70 Barely Branded.
The Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoos are available from most Maybelline retailers, and mine were all purchased at Priceline Pharmacies across the Gold Coast. Each one costs $10-$12 depending on sales and such, so they are a super affordable eye base!

The colour range is vast, and the collection includes normal shimmers and metallics!
My favourite shades to use are Bad to the Bronze and Bold Gold to bring out the blue in my eyes, Barely Branded to make my eyes look much more awake, and Tough as Taupe as an easy smokey eye, and bold eyebrow colour!
05 Too Cool and 20 Painted Purple
25 Bad to The Bronze and 35 Tough as Taupe
40 Tenacious Teal and 45 Bold Gold
50 Edgy Emerald and 55 Inked In Pink
60 Silver Strike and 70 Barely Branded

When it comes to pigmentation, these products are incredible! The lighter colours can be built up super easily, or be worn subtly, and the darker, more-colourful shades are so creamy and shimmery and look beautiful on their own, or as a base for a bold shadow look.

Application with these products is a breeze, as you can use your fingers to tap the product onto your eyelid, and blend it out easily with a big fluffy brush, and they last all day! You can also apply them with regular eye brushes for a more precise look, but you may need to build up the pigment if you apply them this way!

The only thing I will say is that these products often can dry out slightly which causes application to be a little patchy (especially with the lighter colours) but if you just warm up the product a bit with the tip of your finger, it should melt back to normal in no time! Easy fix!
From L-R: 05 Too Cool, 20 Painted Purple, 25 Bad To The Bronze, 35 Tough as Taupe, 40 Tenacious Teal,
45 Bold Gold, 50 Edgy Emerald, 55 Inked In Pink, 60 Silver Strike, 70 Barely Branded.
Overall, I am completely obsessed with the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoos, and truly believe they are a high quality product for a really affordable price!
If you don't have any of these in your makeup collection, I highly suggest you check them out ASAP!
These are one of my holy grail eye products, and I know I'll be using them for a really long time!

That's it from me today lovelies!
See you in the next one :)

My Perfume Collection!

Hello lovelies!

This post is going to be all about my perfume collection!
I don't have the biggest collection in the world, but I do have a variety of scents, sizes and price points so I thought I'd show you them all today.
Let's jump right in!

This is my perfume collection!
As you can see, I have a total of nine perfumes on the go right now, and I am absolutely in love with the way they look on my dresser. I usually have them laid out a bit differently, in front of my small mirror and hugging my makeup brushes and eyeliner pencils, and the different colours of the packaging make my dresser look so much prettier! My dresser is a pretty stark white so having a pop of colour with these beautiful bottles is a huge aesthetic plus!

I'll start off by showing you my celebrity perfumes!

The perfumes shown here are (from left to right):
Someday by Justin Bieber
Purr by Katy Perry
Killer Queen by Katy Perry (front)
That Moment by One Direction

Someday is one of my favourite scents, and I've had it for ages!
I bought mine from Priceline and it cost me about $40AUD (on sale, RRP $99, 100ml).
The bottle is a super light purple colour, with an ombre, rose-shaped lid and a cute lock and key charm at the base of the lid.

Top notes: Mandarin, pear and wild berries
Heart: Floral
Base: Vanilla and musk
~

Purr is the scent that whenever I smell it, I get transported back to 2011 and my last year of school. I remember leaving dance class and spraying this before heading to english for a pick-me up.
I also bought this from Priceline and it cost me about $40AUD (on sale, RRP $89, 100ml).
The bottle is absolutely stunning (although mine was pictured backwards, oops!). It is dark purple, and shaped like a cat, with a tail at the base of the bottle and the lid has ears and big diamante eyes!

Top notes: Peach nectar and apple
Heart: Jasmine, rose and vanilla orchid
Base: Sandalwood and musk
~

Killer Queen used to be my holy grail night time scent!
I fell in love the first time I smelled it, and already have a backup ready to go.
I bought mine from Priceline, and it cost me about $50AUD (RRP, 50ml)
The bottle is stunning, but is hard to store because it cannot stand up. It is a beautiful rich red ombre and the bottom of the bottle is clear. The gold lid also comes with a regal looking crest on the top, but mine is broken, sorry!

Top notes: Wild berries, dark plum and bergamot
Heart: Celosia, sambac jasmine and rainbow plumeria
Base: chasmere, patchouli and liquid praline
~

That Moment is my go to spring-summer scent.
I bought mine from Priceline for $49AUD (RRP, 30ml)
The bottle is so cute and small, with a crown-like lid, and stunning pink finish.

Top notes: Pink grapefruit and apple
Heart: Jasmine and violet
Base: Musk and wood
~

Now let's jump in to my high-end perfumes!

I only have three high-end perfumes, but I love all of them so much!

The perfumes shown here are (from left to right):
Daisy by Marc Jacobs
Frosty Couture by Juicy Couture
L'Homme by Yves Saint Laurent

Daisy is my favourite scent I've ever worn.
It is my go-to if I'm going out on a date with my boyfriend, or doing something special with friends.
I got mine at Priceline for $49AUD (on sale, RRP $90, 50ml)
The bottle is clear, with simple text and the lid has three big white flowers on it which are absolutely lovely.

Top notes: Violet leaves, blood grapefruit and strawberry
Heart: Gardenia, violet and jasmine
Base: Musk, white wood and vanilla
~

Frosty Couture is my holy-grail night time scent.
It is so sophisticated and sexy, and it genuinely smells expensive!
I bought mine from priceline for about $59AUD (on sale, RRP $145, 100ml, LIMITED EDITION)
The bottle is very regal looking, with a beautiful crest on the front, and a string-tied lid with a crown and 'j' charm.

Top notes: Marigold, mandarin and passionfruit
Heart: Tuberose, lily and rose hip
Base: Patchouli, vanilla and caramel
~

L'Homme is a great unisex scent!
I was lucky enough to be gifted this from my boyfriend's sister, and it is one of my lesser worn fragrances, but it always reminds me of my boyfriend on New Years.
It is advertised as a scent for men, but the smell is lovely for powerful women!

Top notes: Ginger, bergamot and lemon
Heart: Spices, white pepper and basil
Base: Cedar, tahitian vetiver and tonka bean
~

Finally, my two remaining scents!

This is the Watermelon Eau de Parfum by Chi Chi Cosmetics.
this is such a beautiful summery scent, and it smells like watermelon candies!
I bought mine from Target, and it was around $20 I think, it's been a while.
This fruity fragrance is perfect to keep you smelling super sweet all day!
~

This little guy is the cutest perfume in my collection.
Unfortunately, I don't know the name or the brand of it, but I was given it for Christmas from my best friend, and it is the fragrance I am wearing as I write this post!
I know these are/were available at Priceline, and are only about $10 I believe!
It smells of pure tea tree oil, which I absolutely love!
It is so fresh and you only need the smallest amount behind your ear to make a statement.

There you go, guys!
That was my perfume collection as of 03/08/15!

I hope you guys liked this post, and I'll catch you in the next one!

Love love,
Rosie x

Stuck in a Rut - I'm not okay.

Hello lovelies!

I know I don't post here as often as I should, and I know I start a lot of posts off that way, but I would love to get back into blogging as I do literally nothing with my time, and this is something that I told myself I'd work super hard on.

This post is going to get deep - I'm not going to even try and pretend that it won't - but I think it's important to talk about, and hopefully some of you reading this will understand what I'm going through.

For the last year, I have been stuck in this rut which, even now so much has changed, I can't seem to get out of. I constantly feel like I'm just floating around, invisible until needed, and kind of just waking up, breathing, and going to bed. I've been trying so very hard to keep myself busy, to stay positive, and to work super hard on those things that I still do have (Youtube, my band, my relationship etc), however, even with those things it feels as if something is missing, and I can't figure it out.

I constantly feel like an outsider. I work super-duper hard at things all my friends and peers are doing, but I'm like the annoying kid that no-one wants around, but they're too polite to tell to leave them alone, or to quit.

This is happening not only with Youtube, but with my band, and my friends and almost everything I do.

For a long time I've struggled with feelings of not being good enough, but I always had things to distract me from that, but over the last year, it's become a lot worse, and it feels like now when I go to people I love for help, they give me positive reenforcement because they feel they have to, and it feels like they are sick of me, and that makes me feel so much worse.

Even as I sit here and write this, I feel bad about talking about this because I'm scared it'll sound like I'm attention-seeking, or like a cry for help, or people will read it and make fun of me for being a 'cry-baby'. I just can't find anything at all that helps.

I spend my days on the verge of tears over the smallest things and it's at the point where I'm almost letting myself give up so I have a reason to be sad. I try everyday to tell myself to find the positives in every situation, but as much as I try and do that, all I can dig up is more and more negatives.

Maybe this is why I work so hard - I feel like I have to achieve something to be taken seriously, or that I won't be sad anymore if things go right, but when I hit tiny bumps in the road I lose all hope and go back to square one.

I'm losing friends. I'm losing ambition and considering the idea of not fighting for what I believe in anymore. I'm losing confidence and I'm losing bravery. I'm beginning to hate myself again.

I sleep all day because I can't pull myself out of bed in case I get bad news or I hit my head or I fill in an eyebrow wrong.

My best mate won't even talk to me.

I don't know what's going on inside my head but I can't stand it, and I don't know how to fight it.

I'm sorry this post is a downer, but it's the truth.
I feel like I am a disappointment, because no matter how hard I work towards something I'm never, ever good enough.

I guess that's everything I have to say today,
I'll hopefully be blogging better things soon.

Love love,
Rosie x

Ambition!

Hey guys!

I've always been a passionate person, and I'm passionate about a whole lot of things such as music, the arts, equal rights, LGBT youth, mental health and so on. However, as much as I want to fix all of those things, or do my best to make a change in those areas, I've never really had the ambition to work solidly on a specific project or career.
When I was in year 12 (that's the last year of high school for those not in Aus), different universities would come to the school and do little presentations about what degrees, diplomas, and special services they offer for students in the first year, and even though I was being presented daily with thousands of possible futures, nothing ever jumped out at me; that was four years ago.
I went to university for 18 months, which was half of my degree, and before the end of my second year, I decided I couldn't handle the pressure, and left. Leaving university was the best decision I ever made, because in the two years that followed my leaving, I had the time of my life and came so incredibly close to finding out what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Perform, and bring music to those whom need it.

The reason I'm telling you the back story is because over the last month or two, I think I might have finally found my ambition, and something I truly want to work towards. My city has been closing down music venues left, right and center, which is terrible. My city is flooding with local talent that deserves to be expressed, so my ambition is to open my own venue, for all ages, where everyone can come and enjoy the type of shows I've been blessed enough to attend over the last six or seven years.
Don't get me wrong, this is going to be a BIG job, with many hurdles to leap over and problems to tackle, but there's something inside me that can't let it go. It is wrong to take music away from a city that is famous for it's laid back culture and award-winning tourist spots. The amount of kids I know that rely on music to get by is the perfect reason to stick this out - I was like them once, and still am in ways; I want to do this for them.

Sorry it's a bit of a heavyish post haha, but I wanted you all to know what I've been thinking about lately, and where my life is heading.

I hope you all support me in my endeavours, and I will do the same for you.

Love love,

Rosie x.

Kick The Sick!

Helloooo,

I know it's been a while but I've been busy with life and stuff so please don't be mad at me.
I really am going to try and do blog posts more frequently, as I really enjoy doing them.
Sometimes it is hard to find topics that are interesting enough to write about, but I'm sure I could write about the colour of the sky and someone out there will find it interesting.

Excuses aside, here's another: I have been ill this week.
The flu hit me Saturday morning. I was laying in bed, watching some of my favourite YouTubers (including my newest video: link above ;) ) when all of a sudden a truck hit me square in the face.
This truck of course being a metaphor for disease.

So, after wallowing in my own sorrow for the last 4 days, I have compiled a list of things I o when I'm sick that help make me feel better. Remedies, I suppose.

Please refer to this list the next time you are feeling poorly, or someone you know is feeling poorly, or you would just like to laugh at my own misfortune.

BEGIN!

  1. DRINK LOTS OF TEA.
Now, some of you may know that I love a good tea, however, being ill is not a great time to consume milk, as it thickens the mucus in your throat (vocalist tip of the day). My absolute favourite tea to drink when I am sick is a Lemon/Ginger infusion with a tablespoon of honey.
It is best to use real lemons and ginger, but if you don't have those ingredients on hand, or you're feeling too sick to go to the effort of cutting and grinding, Twinings make a fantastic lemon and ginger infusion tea, which you just soak in hot water and remove after a few minutes, like a normal tea bag.

The lemon and ginger really help to break down the mucus in your throat and clear your sinuses, and the honey leaves you a nice, warm coating on your throat so it's less painful to eat, sleep and breathe.

    2. BLOW YOUR NOSE... A LOT!

This is something that should be really obvious, but so many people neglect.
I have singlehandedly gone through four boxes of tissues since Saturday night, and I can't stress the importance of this step.

It may be very gross, and everything about it is downright horrible, but if you sniffle and sniffle and sniffle, eventually the mucus in your nose will clog all your sinuses which can cause ear infections, which are NOT a fun time whatsoever.

Bring a handkerchief or small packet of tissues with you wherever you go, and don't be scared to just let it all out. It really helps.

      3. SLEEP, SLEEP, SLEEP!

Being sick is exhausting, so get as much sleep as you can! Not only does it feel amazing to be asleep a good 10 extra hours a day, it also kills time and allows your body to naturally reset. Your body in it's relaxation will fight the virus easier than if you were pushing yourself to do the things you normally would, like working, exercising or even running errands.

Plus, who doesn't love a good nap. Treat yourself.

      4. HAVE A BATH.

Nobody deserves a LUSH spree like a sick person! Grab together some candles, your favourite bath bombs and bubble bars, make sure the water is almost too hot to handle and just relax! Let the heat make you sweat out your fever and relax your aching muscles!

I personally like to bring in my laptop, put on some YouTube video playlists (my favourite is http://youtube.com/user/shaaanxo), keep it away from the water - obviously - and don't get bored while just laying in a tub of water for half an hour or more!

     5. TAKE MEDICINE.

If you can safely take cold and flu tablets, cough medicine and painkillers, I highly suggest you do so.
My all time favourite is Nurofen Zavance, as I get a lot of pain, especially headaches, when I'm ill.
I have also just tried Advil for the first time, and it is an absolute godsend for muscle pain. My teeth were so sore I couldn't move my mouth on my biggest day of sickness, until I took two Advil; they haven't ached since.

Medicines are specially formulated to target and attack whatever the virus is that you may carry, so don't disregard them!

That's all for this post everyone :)
There will be more blog posts coming very soon, so don't fret!
I'm hoping to do some Autumn fashion type posts, along with makeup reviews of new products and just every day lifestyle type things.

If you are all, get well soon!
If not, stay well!

Love love,
Rosie x.

Run, Run, Run!

I have never been the strongest jogger in the world; I'll admit that.
I am a fast sprinter, but my stamina does not allow me to do such things more like once every couple of years, so when I made the decision to get fitter, jogging was definitely one thing I wanted to work on.

My boyfriend is trying to get fitter as well, and having someone with me to motivate me is really helping. We've decided that Monday is 'Run-Day', so we head out just before dinner and go for a short, but - for us - demanding jog around his neighbourhood.

I thought I'd use this blog post to show you what kind of environment I have been running in, and what I wear while I run and do my other exercises.

If you guys like these fitness inspired posts, whether they motivate you to keep fit or if you just like seeing how I'm going, leave me a comment on this post and I'll be sure to do more for Arms, Legs, Abs and Cardio.

The outfit I wear when exercising is really comfortable, really cheap and really good quality.

I wear a sports bra, running singlet, gym shorts and gym shoes.

I don't have any pictures of the sports bra or the shoes as my camera ran out of memory and then froze (ugggh!) but they are both from K-Mart. K-Mart do sports bras for $8 in lots of different colours and they are so comfy, and my shoes were $22 and have elastic instead of laces, and they are so light and easy to jog in!

My singlet I also got from K-Mart for around $10, and it's super simple, stretchy but not tight and comes in a huge range of colours and styles.

My gym shorts are my favourite part of exercising, and I bought them for $20 at Cotton On Body. Cotton On Body is AMAZING for gym, sport and exercise gear so DEFINITELY check them out ladies!
Mine are black with leopard-print panels on the sides, and they are super cute and lightweight.
They are quite loose fitting, however, they come with a opaque section of cloth on the inside that fits like underwear so your knickers don't show on leg day ;) Such a good feature, and it's really, really comfy.

Excuse the boyfriend's sexy legs. ^^

My boyfriend lives around some really nice houses and scenery, and obviously because I was running I couldn't capture all of it, but we run down from his house through a little pathway surrounded by trees, and get to a country club/golf course type area which is where we take a break before running back home - uphill (yikes!)

I had to include the sign because I thought about how funny it was they have to warn people to not get hit with golf balls.

And of course, what fitness post would be complete without a post-run selfie!

That's it for this post guys!

Thanks so much for checking it out, and let me know in the comments if you want me to do more fitness type posts as I'm really enjoying keeping fit!

I'm going to go make a healthy, massive dinner because running really makes me hungry!

Love Love,

In Eyes - The Next Chapter.

As most of you may know, I have been the vocalist of a band called Here's to Neverland for the past two years. Those years hold some of the most amazing, unforgettable experiences I could've ever dreamed, and I am so thankful every day that I have been so lucky to have those dreams become a reality.

But, as life goes on, all good things must come to an end, and such has happened to Here's to Neverland.

Now, I could sit here and be soppy and say that I miss everyone terribly, and I'd take it all back if I could, and I don't know how to play music without them and yadda yadda blah blah blah, but I won't.

The truth is, since I can remember, I've dreamed of becoming a singer. However, unlike most children with the same dream, I never wanted to be a solo artist. Now that I've toured to some of the biggest and smallest cities in Australia with 5 of my best friends in the whole world, I can't imagine doing it all over by myself.

So, although I do miss the guys and all the fun we had over the past 2 years, I can't let my dream and my current position within that dream to go to waste.

That's where In Eyes comes in.

Matticus, my bass player from HTN and best mate of 2 years, and I decided to continue our music as best we could. We decided to change the band's name from HTN to In Eyes, and take on a style that we were both more passionate about than pop - because let's face it, pop?

So begins the search for new members, which although the hype of the band after the announcement skyrocketed and boosted our page up by near 100 likes, has been proving to be a bit slow. However, we cannot expect things to happen overnight, which is one of the many lessons I've learned after being in a semi-successful band over the past two years.

I'm super excited for what is to come with In Eyes, and wish the others the best in their endeavours. Hopefully one day, we'll see each other at the top.

That's all for this one kiddies,

New Year, New Me!

Hey guys!

I am currently sitting in my bedroom with two fans going and my window open, and it is still too hot to sleep so I figured why not write my first blog post of 2015!

I don't even know where to begin.
I suppose the best place to start would be with an apology for not posting much last year.
I'm going to try really hard to get some good content up through ALL my categories this year, so look forward to that - I sure am.

This year, I've set a few goals for myself.
I don't consider these resolutions because it's the 10th of January and I haven't broken them yet.
Some are smaller than others, and more personal, and there's some big ones which are more likely to be achieved next year or the year after - but I can make a start on them now.

The first thing I really wanted to improve on this year is my YouTube channel:
YouTube has become such a big part of my life and I honestly love creating content for you guys to watch. If you haven't seen my channel, click the YouTube link at the top of the blog and you will get redirected.
I won't babble on about my goals for YT, as I made a whole video about it, so if you would like to know the future of my YT channel, head over there and check it out! :)

The second thing I wanted to improve this year, is my appearance:
Now, don't get me wrong - I'm very happy with my body and I love being myself and I'm very comfortable in my own skin, but, as I'm sure everyone has, I just want to improve the little things which will make me look happier and feel better.

My three main goals are to fix my teeth (by whitening and going to the dentist more often), my nails (I've been a chronic nail biter since I had teeth), and my hair (it's very thin and frail and I can't do much with it!)

I've already made some changes that are working for me, so I can't wait to see the difference next month, next season and even next year.

As for my bigger, long-term goals, there are only two:

The first is to become financially stable enough to move into an apartment with my boyfriend.
He needs to do this too, because I'm not paying his share! ;D

The second is to travel!
Whether that be to Sydney, Melbourne, New Zealand, Japan or New York City - I just want to see more of the world.

The five places listed are definitely bucket list worthy for me so I wanna kick em all now!

I am feeling very positive about this coming year and I'm ready to take it each day as it comes :)

If you have any goals you'd like to share, leave them in the comments below and I'll read them all!

That's it for me today!

Rosie xx.

Face of Australia "Eye Do!" Makeup Palettes!

Hello everyone!
It feels like forever since I last did a blog post, so I'm back with a review of the Face of Australia "Eye Do" Makeup Palettes!

I saw these in K-Mart while I was browsing and I fell in love with the packaging! It's so floral and fun and as it is springtime, I considered them a must, and for $10 each, how could I say no?!

Each palette comes with three eyeshadow shades, a mascara, a set of false lashes (no glue), and a little brush.
I'm not sure if there are more than just the two of these, as these were the only ones available at Kmart, so I picked up both of them to review for you guys.

In my experience, Face of Australia have some really great products, so let's jump straight into the review! I'm going to start with the daytime palette 'Afternoon Delights'.

This palette has a highlight shade (1), a lid shade (2), and a crease/outer v shade (3).
The lashes are super curly, and girly - mine have been trimmed which is why they look a bit strange. The mascara is nice, definitely black and doesn't clump. I didn't bother using the little sponge brush because they're all the same.

I applied the shadows over an eye primer to see how long they would last, and I'm pleased to say they lasted all day. I wore them for about 8-9 hours in the heat, and the only thing I noticed was that in the last few hours all of the colours had sort of melted together and I couldn't really notice which colour was where, and they were slightly faded.

The pigmentation is decent, but I did find I needed to layer them up so they could really be noticeable, but super easy to blend and not chalky at all.

I really like this palette for everyday wear.

Now let's discuss the night time palette 'Party Nights'.

This palette contains two lid shades - inner (2) and outer (1), and a crease/outer v shade (3).
These lashes are similar to the daytime ones, just thicker.
The mascara and brush are the same.

I used this palette to create a navy blue smokey eye, which didn't go quite as well as I had hoped.
The colours are blendable, alike the others, but I found while creating my smokey eye that upon blending, I lost a lot of pigmentation and all the colours had kind of moulded together to form a bit of a boring old grey.  I couldn't pinpoint any blue within it, and I used the blue colour 2/3 of the way across my eyelid.

I will say that the staying power is still really good, as I had this look on for about 5 hours and came home with it still flawless on my eyes.

I don't like this palette as much as the other, but I think this would be a good beginner smokey eye palette for anyone looking to start darkening up their look.

Overall, I give these palettes 7/10!
Long-lasting shadows with buildable pigmentation, good mascara, and great quality lashes!

Get Nkd!

One of my favourite YouTubers, Brittney Saunders, (whom you can find here) has recently announced and released her own line of beauty products called NKD BODY. As soon as I found out about the line I couldn't wait to get my hands on some of the stuff and review it for you guys!

The line includes a body scrub (which comes in coffee or mint), a hair mask and a clay face mask.
I picked up one of everything, and my body scrub is in the coffee scent so that I can compare it to FRANK which is a very well known and very highly sought after coffee scrub, which I love dearly.

You can check out the NKD BODY products at http://www.nkdbody.com/index.html

So, without further ado, let's jump right in to this review!
That rhymed. *wink wink*

I'll start with the Face Mask:

The first thing I noticed was how cute the packaging is. It took me right back to lunch time in school drinking ribena for a quick energy hit!

I washed my face as I normally do (I have a video of my skin care routine which you can see here) and opened my mask for the first time. Needless to say, I was very excited!

However, I was a little let down when I tried to get the product out of its adorable packaging. The design is cute, but with a product this thick it did take a bit of strength to push enough product out, and I had to bend the packaging in weird ways - like when you finish a toothpaste and wind it up from the bottom.

Once I had enough out I began applying it to my face. Although it applied like a dream (a little product goes a looooooooooooong way), I must admit I was very taken aback by the smell. At first, I thought my mask may have gone a bit funky in the post, but then I remembered having a similar mask in the past that smelled similar, so it must be fine. After I applied the mask, I actually removed the section underneath my nose because the scent was making me feel a bit queasy :'( .

I let it dry, which it did in record time, then removed it super easily with warm water and a face cloth. It came off so easily! There were no stubborn bits around my nose or hairline and it absolutely just melted away.

The result it left me with was amazing. My skin is naturally quite red and blotchy, and can be quite oily through my T-zone, but when the mask came off, the only redness I could see was each individual little blemish and nothing more! My skin was so moisturised and clean and smooth and all my pores were visibily reduced.

Although the packaging was a bit difficult, and the smell nearly turned me away, I'm so happy I continued to use this product. One of the best masks I've used - 7/10.

Next, the hair mask:

I honestly don't even know where to begin with this product. I have bleached blonde hair, which makes it very hard to manage a lot of the time. I struggle with knots, and dryness so when I find a product that combats all my hair woes, I stick to it - and this is one of them!

I am addicted to the smell of this stuff! It reminds me of lime flavoured jellybeans and the scent transfers onto the hair after use. I smell so fruity and delicious - YAY!

This product isn't as thick as the face mask, so the packaging is just fine. There was no struggle to get the right amount of product out, and is easy to control.

I apply a palm-sized blob of this onto freshly shampooed hair (no conditioner; still wet), and allow it to sit for 5 minutes. This allows the product to soak totally into the hair and work its magic! I wash it out just with warm water. I do the whole process in the shower and it makes everything a lot easier.

I always brush my hair while it's wet, and when I started brushing it out I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of tangles and small knots in my hair! The brush went straight through, with no struggle at all. I always blow-dry my hair which can cause it to tangle even more, and it still didn't!

My hair stayed soft, separated and smooth throughout the drying process, and once it was dry, I noticed it didn't feel as heavy, and was super duper shiny in the sun!

I love this product and will definitely repurchase! 9/10!

Finally, the body scrub:

This is the second coffee scrub I've used - the first being Frank - and I will say this.
It is lovely. It makes my skin feel so soft and moisturised and the coffee smell isn't really super strong on the skin after use.

I got my skin wet all over in the shower and rubbed a handful of this product all over my body, focusing on my dry areas like my elbows and knees, and allowed it to sit for five minutes.

The grains are smaller than those that come in Frank, and are more abrasive so my chest did flare up during use just from the pressure I was using while rubbing it in. Once it was washed off the redness went down after about ten minutes.

While it does smell good, I prefer the scent of Frank as it has fruity accents - this one is all coffee (it still smells great though!)

After use, I definitely found this scrub to be more moisturising than Frank, especially on my dryer areas - however the oils in this product do take a lot longer to sink in. My skin felt amazingly soft on my arms and legs, but my chest took the longest to sink in and wasn't as soft as the rest of my body.

Honestly, I would say this is a great dupe for Frank - it is extremely similar and if you're looking to try something new, or you didn't like Frank too much, give this a go! I really like it - 8/10.

I am super happy with my purchases and am stoked that I can bring you guys this review! Be sure to check out Brittney's channel as well as the NKD BODY instagram account (@getnkd)!

Healthy Hangover Cure!

Last night, I got drunk. This morning, I was no longer drunk, but I was very tired and feeling the effects of a slight hangover. After playing World of Warcraft for several hours, I had a shower and began to feel little pangs of hunger telling me it was time for my hangover feast.

Now, if you keep up with me on any other social media, you will know that recently I have been changing my diet and eating A LOT healthier, to try and combat lethargy, sickness and battle my hyperglycaemia.

Obviously, no matter how bad I wanted a large big mac meal with extra pickles and a shit-tonne of chips, I couldn't, so the boyfriend and I hit the kitchen and made what was surprisingly one of the best healthy hangover cures I've ever had!

It consisted of turkish bread, stuffed green olives, avocado, ham, cheese, chicken and a little bit of salt and pepper! (I'll put the full recipe down below!)

Imagine, grilled cheese on toast, but healthier.

We smashed the avocado and olives together and made a patte type spread for the base, which we spread onto lightly toasted turkish bread, added our toppers, melted the cheese and BAM! LUNCH IS SERVED!

Next time you have a hangover, and have any of these little tidbits floating around the house, I suggest smashing them all together and seeing what you can come up with!

HEALTHY HANGOVER RECIPE:

You will need:
1 avocado (halved)
1 jar of stuffed green olives
1 loaf of turkish bread
A few pieces of sliced ham
A few pieces of chicken (roast, grilled, sliced, whatever!)
Tasty Cheese (or an easily meltable cheese)
Salt and Pepper

METHOD:

1. Preheat grill to 250 degrees.

2. Slice turkish bread to size, and then in half so the crust is on one side and the flesh is on the other (this will leave you with 2 pieces) and put in toaster on a lower heat.

3. In a small bowl (we used a mortar and pestle) combine half the avocado, and a handful of olives, and squish them together until they form a thicker paste.

4. When toast pops up, spread the avocado/olive paste onto the turkish bread slices as a base.

5. Warm up the chicken if necessary, and add the chicken and ham on top of the paste.

6. Sprinkle cheese over the top.

7. Add toast to grill to allow cheese to melt.

8. Remover carefully from grill, sprinkle with salt and pepper and serve!

YUMMY!

Holy Grail Makeup Remover!

For Christmas last year, I was lucky enough to receive a $200 gift card for Napoleon Cosmetics. I first used it to add two of the Devine Goddess lipsticks (Electra and Niki) to my collection, as well as the Mesmer-eyes mascara. I'm a huge fan of each of those products, and I still had some money left on my gift card which needed to be spent, so I picked up the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Duet Makeup Remover, which had been recommended to me by a friend.

The bottle set me back $39.00AUD, and contains 4.65 fluid ounces (137ml) of product. I will it admit, it was a bit painful to spend that much on a makeup remover, however it is a high end brand and for the amount, the price was fairly reasonable. Plus, it was a gift card purchase, so I technically wasn't paying for it anyway! ;D

I was wearing a full face of makeup today, which included primer, foundation, concealer, two setting powders, two bronzers, blush, eyebrow pencil, eyebrow gel, waterproof mascara, waterproof gel eyeliner, kohl eyeliner, an eyeshadow base, two eyeshadows, lip balm, lipstick and lip gloss.

When I got home I decided to bust out the new remover to see how well it did and let me tell you - this is the best makeup remover I've ever used.

The formula combines oil and water which gently removes all eye makeup, and also includes cucumber extract, fennel extract and aloe vera, which are used to soften moisturise and hydrate the skin.

I applied the smallest amount onto 3 small cotton pads and swiped away all my makeup in just a few seconds. A little bit of product goes a very long way which makes it so much more worth the money - this is going to last me ages!

The absolute highlight of this remover for me is the fact that it doesn't pull, catch or dry the eye area. I have very sensitive eyes and a lot of removers end up making my eyes sting horribly, and a lot of makeup wipes are harmful to the skin under my eyes, but the combination of this remover onto a regular cotton pad added hardly any pressure to my eye area and even running it over my waterline didn't cause any irritation whatsoever.

Go and pick yourself up a sample of this bottled-miracle and test it for yourself! It's my new favourite!
10/10! <3

A Day at the Markets!

Last Sunday, my boyfriend Keiran and I hopped in the car and took a road trip to spend the day at the Bangalow Markets!
The sun was shining and we were up bright and early to get ready for the 1.5 hour drive south to Bangalow.

The drive was long, but the scenery was so beautiful, it made the journey worth it!
After getting stuck in market traffic for a good half-hour, we finally made it to the markets, and it was packed!
There were so many people, it was hard to walk at a regular pace, but that just made it easier to check out all the awesome stalls and what they were selling!

Everything was so colourful, the wide variety of food stalls were smothering the showground with a variety of yummy smells, and a number of buskers of all shapes and sizes were keeping the people entertained in between stall trips.

Even though I didn't end up buying anything (except a bag of popcorn which I gobbled up in about two seconds) I had a fantastic day out and it was great to be a part of something different in a different community!

I highly suggest you check out the Bangalow Markets at least once! They run on the last Sunday of every month and you can find all the necessary info at http://www.bangalowmarket.com.au/
